Susan Mutami (born 1991) is a businesswoman, philanthropist, and pro-democracy human rights activist. She made headlines for her relationship with Temba Mliswa, a prominent politician.

Susan has made many allegations that exploded from personal to a full-fledged political issue. She is reportedly expecting twins with Themba.

In 2013, Susan was reportedly fired by an agency for reporting a drowning.

Early Life

Susan Vivian Mutami was born in 1991 in Mbizo, a high-density suburb in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Moore Mutami. She grew up in the landlocked country of Zimbabwe before leaving for Australia in 2007.

Education

Susan Mutami attended a primary school in Fichlea from 1995 to 2001. She registered in a Silobela-based secondary school in 2002. After completing her O Levels, Susan left for Australia in 2007.

Career

Susan Mutami is a businesswoman, philanthropist, and pro-democracy human rights activist. She founded the Susan Mutami Trust, where she sits as the chairperson.

In October 2020, Vivian donated healthcare equipment to Mnene Hospital, Mberengwa, Midlands, Zimbabwe.

Susan handed equipment worth over US$200,000 at Mhondoro Ngezi (St Michaels and Ngezi Hospitals) in June 2020. She also donated equipment to the Minister of Health at the Bepswa Health Facility.

Personal Life

Vivian disclosed her relationship with the prominent politician Temba Mliswa. She revealed that she battled to end a three-month relationship with Temba in early 2021.

Susan claimed Temba had turned her life upside down and regretted meeting him. They met in late 2020 at a ceremony in Norton after she donated equipment.

Vivian went with Temba to his rural home in Shurugwi, Midlands Province, Southern Zimbabwe. The politician tested her for HIV. 

Along the line, Susan became pregnant with him. Temba did not want her to have the twins and asked her to get rid of the babies, but she refused.

Susan claims to spend a lot of money supporting Mliswa’s projects. She discovered that Temba was also sleeping with the Yard Secretary General, Eleanor Kaziboni. Vivian claims that Mliswa wanted to get rid of July Moyo.

Vivian allegedly has a son with former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sibusiso Moyo. According to her, her late baby daddy told her that some people wanted him dead.

In February 2022, Susan Mutami accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa of abusing her sexually when she was fifteen. She claims she dated the late former Foreign Affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo.

Politics

In May 2021, Susan declared interest in the Norton Parliamentary seat. She will contest her former lover Temba Mliswa in the 2023 general elections.

Susan Mutami is very active on Twitter. She tweets about her personal life, work, and philanthropy. With over three thousand tweets, Mutami joined Twitter in 2019.

Achievements

  • Susan received the Australian CEO Magazine Executive Of the Year award in 2018.
