Early Life and Education

Bayanni whose full name is Abimbola Oladokun was born on the 25th of June, 1997 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He grew up in a Christian home that taught and instructed him on maintaining the virtues of the holy books.

While growing up, Bayanni was hugely interested in music and had access to a lot of digital instruments which fast-tracked his learning process. Through listening to various genres of music, he started developing his abilities.

There isn’t much information on the schools which Bayanni attended for his basic education. However, he is a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Career

Bayanni started his musical career at a very young age while singing in the choir at his local church. He immediately started writing songs and recording while growing up under the guidance of his family.

Bayanni was mainly interested in Afropop and Afrobeats after being influenced by big-name players in the music industry including Burna Boy, Davido, and Olamide. 

While studying, he was always visiting the studio to record songs and equally growing his musical prowess. Through his hard work and dedication, he became famously known in the OAU music setting and attracted a lot of collaborations and invites.

Furthermore, Bayanni engaged in recording covers of popular songs and shared them on his social media account. He made and released covers of music including Felony by Ckay, Jowo by Davido, and Peru by Fireboy DML.

In 2022, he became a part of Mavin Records and signed his contract after being contacted by CEO, Don Jazzy. He was welcomed and joined up with group members including Boy Spyce, Ladipoe, Crayon, Magixx, Ruger, and Ayra Starr amongst others. 

He released Bayanni EP under Mavin Global Holdings.
