Lindiwe Dube (born May 17, 1989) is a 33-year-old South African sports personality. She is a presenter, sportscaster, and sports journalist. She is prominent for working with the South African-based sports channel SuperSport.

During the 2012 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, the sportscaster quit her job to start journalism.

At the PSL Awards, the prominent sportscaster was among the three who won the Chairman’s Awards on May 19, 2019.

Early Life

Lindiwe Dube was born on May 17, 1989, in Daveyton, a township in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality of Gauteng. She and her siblings grew up under the care of a single mother.

Things were tough for her and her family, and they lived in an informal settlement without TV.

Her mother understood the importance of formal education and strived to make it available to them.

A football field close to her home influenced her. She attended games and entered competitions on the field on weekends. Though she came from a humble beginning, she strived to lift her family from poverty.

Education

The sportscaster attended Imagination Lab and completed a one-year program in advertising. After graduating in 2018, Dube tried to apply to the YFM internship initiative YFM but failed twice.

The third attempt was a success for her. There she gained knowledge of the basics of broadcasting.

Career

Lindiwe was a receptionist in sales and worked for two years. During the 2012 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), she decided to try broadcasting after watching the AFCON final match.

The sportscaster got a job at PowerFM. After it got to her that the South African-based sports channel SuperSports needed presenters for the Diski Challenge, she became interested.

After entering the competition – she stunned everyone with her unmatched knowledge of sports – she beat hundreds of hopefuls to the finals.

Dube resigned from the commercial radio station Power FM and joined television. She was among the recipients of an R250,000 prize at the Chairman’s Awards at the PSL Award.

Personal Life

Lindiwe Dube and her husband, Sibusiso Nxumalo, wedded on March 10, 2022. The couple had a beautiful white wedding ceremony to mark their memorable day.

They had engaged for a while after her hubby proposed to her on October 28, 2021. The proposal was romantic and was at the top of the range Nambithi Hills in KwaZulu-Natal. Sibusiso Nxumalo is a pilot.

The sports personality built a seven-room house for her mother. As a child, she had tomboy physic but now has a more girlie look.

The sportscaster has been doing well in the media scene and bought her first car in August 2016.
