Biography
Stanley Mathabatha (born January 21, 1957) is a South African politician. He currently serves as the premier of the Limpopo province.
Mathabatha started politics at a very young age and joined the Umkhonto we Sizwe guerrilla in 1977. In February 2014, he became the Provincial Chairperson of the ANC in Limpopo Province.

Early life
Chupu Stanley Mathabatha was born on January 21, 1957, in Ga-Mathabatha, Transvaal, South Africa.
Education
Mathabatha obtained a BA Degree from the University of the Western Cape. He holds a master’s degree in Development from the Graduate School of Leadership, University of Limpopo.
In 2003, he obtained an executive management development program at Harvard University in the US.
Career
Mr. Mathabatha started participating in politics at a very young age. At twenty years, he joined the ANC liberation army Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) in 1977.
After unbanning political parties in 1990, Stanley was among the key activists to rebuild the ANC internally. In 1992, he served as the Treasurer of the Northern Transvaal Region of the ANC.
Mathabatha has served the African National Congress in various capacities in Limpopo. The political guru is also a seasoned administrator.
Over time, he has perfected the art of public administration. In March 2003, he became the Chief Operations Officer of LimDev.
Mathabatha had served as the General Manager of the SMME Directorate in the Provincial Department of Finance and Economic Development in Limpopo.
In 1994, he was also the technical advisor to the then MEC of Finance and Economic Development. In 2005, he became the Managing Director of LimDev.
Stanley became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the RSA in Ukraine (non-resident Ambassador in Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova) in 2012. He is a member of the African National Congress (ANC) Party.
Tribalism Accusation
The political genius has faced several accusations of tribalism. Among others, entertainer Papa Penny claims that Mathabatha appoints only the Pedi people.
Personal Life
Stanley Mathabatha is married to Margaret Mathabatha. His wife was born in Pretoria and matriculated at Illinge High School.
After Stanley became the premier of Limpopo, Margaret became the First Lady. The couple has three children.
