Passion and the fun that comes with doing what you love were Stokie and Jaivane’s rewards during their early days.

Back then, they would hold performances and would get appreciated with a plate of food or scones and ginger beer.

In an interview, DJ Stokie revealed that he received R150 to play the whole weekend. The pay wasn’t enough since he and his other DJs mates would buy pieces of vinyl, which cost R100 each, at that time.

Even with less pay, they strived to make good music. Today, the duo is reaping the fruit of their efforts and dedication.
