Neels van Jaarsveld (born June 20) is a South African actor, director, and producer. He has appeared in many television, movie, and theatre productions.
One of his best-known roles is as Dr Gideon Basson in the Afrikaans soap opera Binnelanders.
Many television viewers are familiar with his role in the Klipdrift brandy commercial. He brings the characters in her plays back to life in any production.
Jaarsveld appeared in the KykNET’s law drama Fynskrif and has starred in many local television shows. He is famous for featuring in Backstage and Met Eish adverts.

Early Life
Neels van Jaarsveld was born on June 20 in Kuils River, Cape Town, South Africa. After his birth, his family relocated to the large City of Johannesburg.
Education
Jaarsveld studied at Laerskool Aucklandpark and was the head boy. He matriculated at Hoërskool Linden, after spending a year at Paul Roos Gymnasium.
The actor obtained a BA in Drama at the University of Stellenbosch.
Career
In his third year in school, Neels began to work with Vleis, Rys & Aartappels. Working with the theatre company owned by theatre director Marthinus Basson gained him exposure.
To date, the actor has played several guest and starring roles in TV drama series. He has appeared in series like Madam and Eve, Yizo, Yizo, SOS, and more.
Neels has appeared in many local television series like Hard Copy, Known Gods, Binnelanders, and On the Couch.
In 2005, he appeared in The Poseidon Adventure. He portrays Flippie in the SABC3 comedy series On the Couch.
Personal Life
Neels van Jaarsveld married Jeanne on April 29, 2017, in Witsand. He announced his divorce from his wife on Facebook. The actor participated in the reality show Op My Eish!
On the show, he sought his dream girl, and on July 8, the contestants had their first individual dates with him. His hobbies include surfing and playing golf. He enjoys a walk with his dog.
