Samkelo Ndlovu (born 31 December 1989) is a South African film and TV actress. She is best known for portraying Sonia on the SABC1 soccer drama series Zone 14.

Playing DJ Lulu in the soap opera Generations further thrust her into the spotlight. She has appeared in many flicks such as Inkaba, intersexion, Mzansi Love, and Rhythm City.

Samkelo Ndlovu was born on 31 December 1989 in Alexandria Township, Johannesburg. The actress had her childhood experience and attended primary schools in Alexandria.

Education

Ndlovu attended Fairways Primary and completed her high school education at Sandringham High School. After matric, she attended AFDA – the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance.

Samkelo Ndlovu is an actress best known for playing Sonia on the SABC1 soccer drama series Zone 14. She is prominent for playing Nkosazana in season eleven of the SABC1 AIDS drama TV series Soul City.

For a year, from 2012 to 2013, she starred in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Inkaba as wild child Lira Khumalo. A month after graduating from college, she landed her first “major role” as Lerato in Taka Taka.

The soccer comedy feature films starred other prominent comedians like Trevor Noah and Kagiso Lediga. She played the supporting role in the SABC1 soap opera Generations.

The actress has appeared in many other television shows like Zone 14, Intersexions, and Sokhulu & Partners. In 2011, she played Esther in the Thapelo Moekoena-produced feature Skyf – The Movie.

In 2013, she appeared first as Lerato on the soap opera Rhythm City. She starred in an episode of the e.tv anthology series Mzansi Love: Kasi Style. She appeared as a young attorney in season two, episode six, titled Lawless.

Samkelo Ndlovu is a proud mother to Ngelosi, which means Angel in Xhosa and Zulu. Her baby daddy Sello Nhlapho also contributes to catering to the child even though the duo got separated.

Later, she almost dated the prominent comedian Trevor Noah but declined. She revealed that they were not compatible, though she knew Trevor before he grew prominent.

Samkeli speaks five languages – Xhosa, Zulu, English, Sotho, and Tswana.
