Buju whose real name is Daniel Benson was born on the 14th of May, 1997 in Gbagada, Lagos State, Nigeria. He has Akwa-Ibom and Yoruba roots as his father is from the South-South while his mother is a Yoruba woman.
Buju spent the majority of his formative years in Lagos State before moving to Ogun State, a neighboring state. He became fluent in Yoruba and was widely exposed to the rich Nigerian music culture.
Buju attended Emerald High School in Lagos State before moving to Babcock University, Ogun State where he bagged a degree in Theatre Arts.

Buju is not in a relationship with anyone at the moment. But there are rumors that he is dating a beautiful lady but specifically decided to keep their relationship private.
Career
While in school studying for a degree, Buju steadily chased his passion of becoming a musician. He was actively composing different songs while perfecting himself and was using the stage name, Drizzle.
Changing his stage name from “Drizzle” to “Buju (BNXN)” came as a result of listening to Buju Barton, a known Jamaican dance hall artist.
His official debut single titled “Catch A Vibe” was released in 2018 and did relatively well in the market as it won over a new set of fans. Buju further released “A Day In Lagos” which did equally well before he backed it up with the release of “Aje” and “Balance”.
His breakthrough in the industry came in 2019 when he recorded “Spiritual” and subsequently promoted it on diverse social media platforms. This strategic move proved successful as it went viral and reached all corners of the internet with numerous views.
Buju made a remix of the song with Zlatan Ibile and it was also a major hit, further bringing him to the limelight of the entertainment industry.
Still moving forward, he enjoyed great success when Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy took an interest in his single “Lenu” and promised to join him for a remix.
After the remix, he got signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records, a known music production company. Despite this new change, Buju still had to move in April 2021 when his contract got expired.
He immediately decided to form his own music production company which he named “To Your Ears Entertainment”. Buju has since remained active and is involved in several projects related to music.
