DJ Owami (born Owami Mafokate; 20 September 2001) is a young-upcoming South African Disk Jockey. She is popular for being the daughter of the Kwaito king.

Her family woke early in the morning to commence the birthday celebration. Her father, Arthur, shared snaps and birthday shout out to his daughter on social media.
She was born into the family of Arthur Mafokate, a South African kwaito musician and producer.
Her mum, Sesoko, also was a singer, who was the lead singer of the Afro-pop group ‘Abashantee’ in the ’90s.
At a young age, at the age of 16, when she was in grade 11, the young artist started to find her own identity in the world.
She is even stepping out of her parents’ shadow even without noticing.
As a DJ, Owami is a resident DJ on YoTV. She makes an appearance on the weekly Friday mainly for youth.
Outside YoTV, she is improving her DJ skills. Her elder brother, A.J Mafokate taught her on an occasional basis.
The young DJ decided to chase after her DJ career but her parents, Arthur Mafokete and Sesoko are not too convinced about her being a singer.
