Nyalleng Thibedi (born September 4, 1980) is a South African actress. She has played many roles but is best known for appearing on the SABC1 soap opera Uzalo as Zekhethelo.

The actress is also a model and qualified chemical engineer. In 2013, viewers began to talk about her after she appeared as Rama in the Mzansi Magic drama miniseries Single Mothers 2013.

Thibedi has appeared in other television productions such as 4 hours as Rose Dlamini, Ashes to Ashes as Mpho Rankoane, and Durban Gen as Mrs. Dhlomo.

Early Life

Nyalleng Thibedi was born on September 4, 1980, in Rockville, Soweto, Gauteng. She studied in primary and secondary schools in South Africa.

Thibedi obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in 2001. 

Later, the actress branched out into acting and modeling. She studied acting in New York and appeared in many productions.

Career

The actress guest starred in an episode of an SABC2 police procedural drama series, Streets of Mangaun, in 2012. She has appeared in other Lokshin Bioskop series and films for Mzansi Magic, such as iLobolo, Single Mothers, and The Society.

Nyalleng Thibedi has been in the entertainment industry for over ten years. She made her debut in 2008 in Picture Perfect while she was with the New York Film Academy.

The prominent actress played Rose Dlamini in the local TV thriller miniseries produced by Magic Factory, 4 Hours. She has appeared in many series, such as Streets of Mangaung as a History Teacher.

Apart from acting, she makes extra bucks as a model. She has worked for several top companies and brands, such as Cell C and DSTV.

Uzalo

Her character Zekhethelo on the SABC1 soap opera Uzalo gives viewers chills once she appears. The character’s stepfather, Nkunzi, is one of the notorious criminals in KwaMashu.

Zekhethelo had to discern that the criminal Nkunzi wasn’t her biological father. However, she started to do drugs in the long run. Later in season five, her character returned as a police person.
