Bobby van Jaarsveld (born March 6, 1987), formally known as Pieter van Jaarsveld, is a South African pop singer-songwriter and actor. He performs most time in the Afrikaans language.
Van Jaarsveld appeared in the Afrikaans film Liefling – Die Movie in November 2010. He began to sing professionally in high school.

Early life
Pieter van Jaarsveld was born on March 6, 1987, in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa. He has two sisters and is the second child of his parents.
One of his sisters, Karlien van Jaarsveld, is a singer-songwriter. He was nicknamed Bobby after his biological father. He began to sing at the age of 14
Education
Bobby attended many primary schools in South Africa. He matriculated from Brits High School.
Career
While in high school, he started music professionally. He received a singing record offer and dropped his debut solo album in his last year.
Bobby has bagged several awards, and in 2016 he added to his awards collection. He bagged the award for Best Newcomer at the Huisgenoot Tempo Awards.
The singer received three nominations from Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees, Vonk, and Huisgenoot Tempo magazine. He performed at the Skouspel Extravaganza hosted at Sun City until 2011.
Theuns Jordaan Productions offered him a recording contract in 2006. He dropped his debut album ‘n Duisend Ure, the same year and made sales reaching gold status.
Bobby released his second album Net Vir Jou in 2009 and was the writer and composer of each of the tracks. It housed hit tracks like Spieëltjie and Net Vir Jou.
In early 2010, he received the Viewers’ Favourite Artist award for 2001 on DKNT. His song Spieëltjie won Best Afrikaans Song at the Huisgenot Tempo and the Vonk Awards.
In 2012, he dropped another album, Wat Geld Nie Kan Koop Nie, and Maak ‘n Wens followed in 2014. Aside from music, he has made several appearances in movie productions.
In November 2010, Bobby played the lead character in the Afrikaans film Liefling – Die Movie. Hartiwood Studios South Africa released the production.
In 2013, he starred in the film As Jy Sing. Bobby has also graced local television shows. In January 2016, he was a judge on the singing competition show, The Voice SA.
