Anele Mda (born April 20, 1978) is an Inspirational speaker, media personality, entrepreneur, and social activist. She has participated in many activist movements in the society on stages within and outside South Africa.

Mda is also active in politics and served as an executive committee member of the ANC Youth League. She has appeared in many prominent publications.

As an activist, she has appeared on stage with many great leaders both on the local and international scene. The office of the former U.S President, Barrack Obama, invited her to Washington DC, where she shared the stage with Michelle Obama.

Early Life

Anele Mda was born on April 20, 1978, in Bizana, a town in the Eastern Cape province. She spent most of her formative years in Mthatha. 

Her family is well-known for their engagements in activism. They are academics and self-taught business people.

Following the steps of her family, she took the path of activism. Although, she focuses more on social and gender.

Career

Activism is serious business for Mda. She has spoken on reputable stages in Africa and other continents. She has shared the stage with the likes of the late Kenyan environmentalist Wangari Maathai.

Anele has also shared the stage with notable personalities like Ms. Joyce Mujuru and Ms. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. 

She has shared the stage with the American Business Mogul Randi Zuckerburg. She has also shared the stage with Olympic Champion Wayde van Niekerk and Ndaba Mandela.

Mda is also a trained Teen and Transformational Coach. She has appeared as a commentator on television, radio, and other platforms. 

Her passion for activism led to the launch of an NGO called Creative Young Women and Growing Girls Group.

Although she was 18, she created the group to create awareness and offer education programs on HIV & AIDs.
