Thato Moeng (born 25 April 1986 in Pretoria North) is a South African Journalist, voice-over artist. She is also a host, brand ambassador, and presenter.

She is popular for appearing on the screen as a presenter on SuperSport. She is making it on the male-dominated profession in style.

Her talent in the profession earned her space as a host in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. Adding to her achievements, Thato hosted the World Cup.

The female journalist has made a name for herself in the profession and also has the dream of owning a football club.

Thato Moeng was born in Pretoria North, South Africa on 25 April 1986. The renowned media person initially dreamt of being a political journalist.

She was drawn to her father during her childhood days. This played a huge role in influencing her love for sports. Though, she had a greater love for political journalism.

Landing a sports gig at first was not sufficient to convince her until she began to notice positive results.


In 2006, she enrolled to study Journalism at the Tshwane University of Technology. She graduated in 2010.


She kicked off her profession with an internship at YFM. After years of working with the station, she joined 5FM as a presenter. Moving to the station earned her “the first black and female sports presenter” on the station. 

She began her work at the radio station in 2011 and worked for 3 years until 2014. Earlier in 2010, she appeared in an audition for a new sports show at SuperSport.

Thato began to host Thursday Night Live alongside Robert Marawa. She has also landed the role of host at Thato Moeng YO-TV sports show.

Following another contract with Vision View Sports Radio, Johannesburg in 2018, she hosted Morning Flow and NFD. She hosted the launch and draw of the 2021 Nedbank Cup. 


Thato Moeng is married to her then-boyfriend Dumisani Sibiya. The couple exchanged their marital vows on 22 December 2016. 

She took to social media to notify followers that “she is off the market” in early 2017.

The love they shared made them a beautiful daughter. They are enjoying their marital relationship. 


The presenter shared with GSport that the “state of women sport in South Africa has improved a lot. Though the sports presenter feels that “more work is to be done”.

Nevertheless, she appreciated sponsors who help women sport. She is among the popular female SuperSports presenters.
