Tebello Sukwene (born in Springs) is a South African gospel artist but a born again Christian. She has not done and performed any music genre other than the gospel.

She is the first-born daughter of Sarah Marokoane and a sister-in-law to Musa Sukwene, the Idols 2013 winner.

She was born in Springs into the Moeketsi family and grew up in KwaThema and Tsakane. She has never done any other music genre but the gospel.


Tebello is a wife to drummer Bafana Sukwene. Her husband played with the likes of Simphiwe Dana.

Tebello had her primary and secondary school education at Geluksdal Primary and Secondary School.

According to her, she was raised by a God believing family and also has worked with many great musicians in the industry.

Tebello has worked with musicians including Lira and Simphiwe Dana who do not sing gospel.

She also was a co-songwriter for the Jazziel brothers and yet still loved gospel more.

“Gospel music defines who I am and I love it because I love to worship God for all that he has done for me,” she says

She also shared that lately, she recorded her first and coming soon live DVD and CD entitled He’s Alive.

Tebello also worked with Bafana, her husband, as the executive producer and Nqubeko Mbatha as the producer.

Her biggest challenge in the music industry was when she was to go solo and have her album dropped.

“Despite having worked with many known musicians, I had to take my career seriously while also presenting the best image and reputation to my fans,” she says.

Tebello has the dream of being able to sign other artists in the next five years.

“I would also love to see myself recording more albums and eventually being recognized not only in South Africa but by other countries as well,” she says


Tebello will be live during the Churchill Selatole’s new CD launch. She would also be performing at an Easter service at Chance Children’s Home.
