Somizi Mhlongo (born on 23 December 1972, Soweto, Gauteng) is a South African TV and radio personality. He is also a choreographer, actor, and singer.
He is also known to many television viewers as a judge on ‘Idol SA’, a talent search television show.

His acting career dates back to his early days as a child, at the age of 13 he appeared in the film ‘Scavengers’ in 1987.
A few days later, he joined Sarafina, a musical and political film in 1992. He played his name but was nicknamed “Whacko”.
Somizi also appeared in films including Kein Himmel über Afrika (1993) and Cry, the Beloved Country (1995).
In 1996, he appeared in Tarzan: The Epic Adventure, a television series.
He was a judge on the eleventh season of Idols South Africa and the lead judge on Dance Your Butt Off alongside Khabonina Qubeka.
He started his reality show Living the Dream with Somizi on Mzansi Magic in 2016. His other television credits include City Ses’la, Ayeye, and 10 Over 10.
Somizi has also been a host on several awards shows including the South African Music Awards. He co-hosted the show for three consecutive years (2016-2018).
