Sjava (born Jabulani Hadebe; 2 December 1984 in Bergville, KwaZulu Natal) is a renowned South African singer, rapper, and actor.
His first debut recording was a feature on Miss Pru’s, a Disk Jockey and producer, “Ameni”. Sjava released his first single as a solo artist on 8 April 2016, titled “Ekuseni”.
His date of birth is on the 2nd of December, 1984 and his place of birth is Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. Sjava is of Zulu ancestry and is the youngest of three (3) children.
He began writing songs at a very young age and at ten (10) Sjava was responsible for writing original lyrics on songs for Abafana baseMpumalanga.
He was born into the family of Thandi Nkabinde, his mother, and is of Zulu ancestry. He is a brother to two (2) elder siblings namely Sibusiso, his brother, and Sindy, his sister.
He kicked off his acting career in the year 2005 after starring in many drama series and films. A notable movie Sjava starred is uGugu no Andile (2009).
He became popular and stepped into the spotlight on the drama series, “Zone 14”.
Following his signing into the record label Ambitiouz Entertainment, he was featured on Miss Pru’s song “Ameni” (2005).
His first album, Insina Muva (2016) was a spectacular performance which was a fusion of afrobeat, hip hop, and contemporary R&B.
The next studio album, Umqhele (2008) was released to critical acclaim. He became popular and grew his African influence image with his style of music, fusion sound.
He acted for eight years (2013-2015) and appeared on many TV shows including Zone 14, Generations and Soul City and 7de Laan, uGugu and Andile, Isibaya.
In 2018, he also dropped his debut Extended Play (EP) Umphako.
