The popular South African rugby player was born Siyamthanda Kolisi in South Africa. He plays for Western Province in the Currie Cup and also for the South African National team, the Stormers in Super Rugby.
As a flanker, Kolisi has contributed greatly to his team, his position is not limited to the flank. He can fit in any back-row position.

He was born into the family of Phakama and Fazekele.
He lost Phakama, his mother when he was 15 years old. He was raised under the care of his grandmother Nolulamile.

He is a brother and guardian to his two half-siblings who are his mother’s children.
His siblings, Liyema nad Liphelo lived for five years in an orphanage and foster care until the Siya Kolisi took them in 2014.
He is a son to Phakama (mother) and Fezakele (father). He was welcomed to his family at a very young age.
His mother was just 16 years old while his dad was rounding up his school during his final year of study.
At the age of 15 years, his mother died leaving him under the care of his grandmother.
Growing up under the care of his grandparent was tough. Kolisi grew up in Zwide township outside Port Elizabeth.
When he was 12 years, Kolisi impressed scouts at a youth tournament in Mossel Bay and was offered a scholarship at Grey Junior in Port Elizabeth.
He studied at Grey High School and became part of the First XV rugby team.
Well, that was the beginning of destiny I guess, he later joined the Eastern Province Kings youth set-up (2007 – 2009) where he played in the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week and also the Under-18 Craven Week. He later relocated to the west where he joined Western Province.
- He made his senior debut for Western Province in a match against the Golden Lions during the 2011 Vodacom Cup.
- Kolisi graduate to the Stormers squad in 2012.
- He recorded thirteen (13) appearances and two (2) tries.
- Siya was appointed captain of the Stormers on February 20, 2017.
- He was appointed captain of the Springboks on May 28, 2018.
- Then, he made his Springbok debut on 15 June 2013 against Scotland at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
- He played for South Africa in two (2) matches against Japan and Samoa in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Kolisi and Rachel Smith, a former professional event manager, and marketing executive tied the knot in holy matrimony in Western Cape in August 2016.
As a mother who puts her family first, Rachel had to quit her job to take full care of her family and children.
The love birds together are parents to two (2) lovely children namely: Nicholas Siyamthanda, son, and Keziah, daughter. He also has his two half-siblings, Liyema, and Liphelo under his care.
His siblings spent five (5) years of their lives in an orphanage and foster care until Kolisis took them in 2014.
