Randall Wicomb Biography: Age, Wife, Family, Cause of Death

Randall Wicomb (born 30 January 1949-died 27 December 2015) was a singer South African history will never leave out. The Afrikaans singer was notable for his achievements too.

He was a 3-times winner of the ATKV’s Crescendo singing competition. The first time he took home the winning price was in 1975, then he did in 1976, and again in 1977.

Education

After building his early academic foundations, he furthered at Jan van Riebeek High School in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing school, he went for military training in the Parachute Battalion.

Randall Wicomb attended the University of Stellenbosch and obtained B.Sc Honors (Ecology). 

Career

He educated students after leaving school. Randall was an educator at Durbanville High School and Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch.

He also qualified as a coppersmith at Pieter van Dijk’s studios in Cape Town. Upon qualifying, he decided to practice coppersmithing as art and commissioned work. 

Wicomb is an avid antique glass bottle/artifact collector. He will also be remembered for doing metal detector tracking as a hobby.

Personal Life

Randall Wicomb was married to Koba and their union was blessed with three children. The name of his children is Pierre-Henri, Saskia, and Kobâ.

Cause of death

In 2013, he received a medical report that diagnosed him with cancer. Randall Wicomb succumbed to the disease in his house in Stellenbosch. He died around 03:45 on 27 December 2015, two days after Christmas.
