Pieter Stephanus du Toit (born 20 August 1993) is a South African rugby union player. He plays as a flanker for the South Africa National team and the Stormers in Super Rugby.
He received an award as the 2019 Men’s World Rugby Player of the Year after his team emerged winner of the 2019 Rugby World Cup with South Africa.

At 21, Pieter made his Springbok Test debut versus Wales in Cardiff in 2013.
He was appointed captain on 2 June 2018 making him the 60th captain of South Africa. He led his team, Springboks, against Wales and lost the match 20-22.

Pieter-Steph du Toit had his excellent season recognised as he was named Player of the Year for 2019 at the World Rugby Awards in Tokyo on Sunday.
The flank played a crucial role in the Springboks’ campaign as they claimed the World Cup title for the first time since 2007, while they also won the Rugby Championship earlier this year.
Du Toit started five World Cup games, scoring a try in the Boks’ opener against New Zealand and finishing as the team’s top tackler with 61 tackles and a success rate of 85%.
The 27-year-old beat teammate Cheslin Kolbe, Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones, flanks Ardie Savea and Tom Curry and USA hooker Joe Taufete’e to the award
