Phuthuma Nhleko (born 7 April 1960 in Gauteng) is a South African businessperson. He is a well know wealthy business executive the country has produced.
He co-founded Pembani Group Proprietary Limited and occupied other notable positions in the country. Phuthuma was the executive chairperson of MTN Group.

He was born Phuthuma Nhleko on 7 April 1960 in Gauteng. He had his academic pursuit at St Mark’s High School, Swaziland.
Furthering his education, he enrolled for a degree in civil engineering in 1983 at the Ohio State University.
Nhleko also holds a finance MBA from Atlantic University (1987). He founded the Pembani Remgro Infrastructure Managers (Pty) Ltd.
His leadership credits include chairperson at AfriSam (South Africa) Pty Ltd. He also occupied the position of non-executive chairman at Pembani Group (Pty) Ltd.
He is married to Nontokozo nee Sibiya. The couple exchanged their marital vows in August 1989. Their union is blessed with four children, 3 daughters, Nonkululeko, Nosipho, Fikile, and 1 son, Mpumelelo.
