Penny Wolhuter (born 29 June 1998) is a South African dancer and actress. Though she is a newbie in the film industry, she has managed to walk into the spotlight.

She is best known for appearing in the SABC3 telenovela The Estate as Leah. The young actress is also a good dancer and started to appear on tv as a young child.

Penny was born on 29 June 1998 and hails from a family with a background in entertainment. Her father Kim Wolhuter is a cinematographer and producer.

He is famous for the 2006 Wild and 2005 Predators at War. Kim has is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker.


She had her matriculation at Penryn College High School in Mpumalanga.

Penny decided to further her academic pursuit at Oakfields College in Somerset West. She graduated in 2019 with a Diploma in Musical Theatre (Dance Major).


She has been appearing on screen since her childhood days. Penny appeared in Safari Sisters, a wildlife docu-reality series.

The show follows the lives of Kim (father) and his daughters, Penny and Lindy (sister), in the African Savanna.

In the series, Penny and her sister assist their father in documentation and conservation efforts following their father’s footsteps.

The show, Safari Sister, aired in 2009 on Animal Planet. She made her debut in the movie industry in The Estate. She was cast as Leah le Roux in the SABC3 telenovela. 

It is a new series on SABC3 that tells a story on several social issues in society.

It tackles issues on land and identity, corruption, patronage, money, power struggles, class, and equality. Her role, Leah (15), is the daughter of Suzaan.
