Omega Khunou hails from the Koster, in the North West. He was born into a Christian family and it went a long way to inspire him.
He was born and raised in the church, according to him, Hayo hitmaker, he wants to lead by example.
“It’s a known fact that gospel artists often don’t practice what they preach.
“I was born and raised in the church and it’s my responsibility and my duty as a Christian to make sure I live a life that pleases God.
“It’s the same reason that has kept me grounded since I moved to Joburg in 2000.”
Omega Khunou is 36 years old and is from the Koster, in the North West.
The name of Omega’s father is Abraham Khunou, a pastor at the Poellano Fellowship Ministry in North West. He earnestly serves God in the church his parents founded.
Omega studied music at Funda Community College and later joined Spirit of Praise in 2014.
“I then went to study music at Funda Community College in 2006 before I was recruited to join Spirit of Praise.
“Although I joined them after they had already released two albums, I was lucky to have released four albums with them.
“I was even more blessed when Spirit Music offered me a recording deal in 2014.”
Since 2014, under the wings of Spirit of Praise, he has dropped two (2) albums and is also working towards a live DVD.
Omega a word of advice with aspiring musicians. “People must learn to embrace every opportunity they’re given to perform. I was discovered at a funeral. Luckily, managers of the record label were there.
You never know who may be listening when you sing.”
