Ntando Bangani (born 16 October 1981 in Nelspruit) is a South African singer and businessman. The musician has made a great impact in the music industry through his mellow style of doing music.

He has recorded several achievements and has taken home awards including some of his albums reaching the coveted platinum level. Ntando holds a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Record of the Year (2006).

The award-winning singer and record label owner boasts almost two decades of experience in the industry. He kicked off his profession in 2013 with the album Kwantu.

Ntando Bangani is the name given to him after his birth on 16 October 1981. He was born in Nelspruit, now known as Mbombela a city in northeastern South Africa.

He was raised in the township of Kagiso, in the Krugersdorp area west of Johannesburg, Gauteng.

His mother, Nobuntu Bangani, who is “extremely religious” played a huge role in shaping him into the man he is today. Nanto is brother to Velile Bangani and Robin.


In 2003, he officially kicked off his music profession with the album Kwantu. His songs have received much positive feedback and have reached platinum status.

During an interview session, he revealed that his source of motivation from some of the “best in artist”. He mentioned the late king of pop Michael Jackson and Bob Marley.

After the release of his album, the next was Imvelaphi, his second album. The album was welcomed to the music scene by music lovers that it gained huge listenership and recognition.

The following album is Uhambo Lwan (his third) in 2008. It also made waves in the music industry and received recognitions including attaining platinum.

He touched countries within and outside Africa to hold performances. He toured Namibia, Germany, Botswana, France, South Africa, and India in mid-2009.

In the same year, he signed a partnership with EMI/CCP Record Company. He entered the partnership to drop his solo recordings and it was successful.

Under the record company, Ntando dropped an album Inqubela. The album housed twelve tracks and gained recognition. He took home the “Best Pop Album” in the 2010 SAMA awards.

Apart from his music profession, he is a successful business person. Bangani owns a record label and a hair salon in Johannesburg, South Africa, both sharing the same brand name – Born Fire.

Private Life

Ntando Bangani was married to Mamoroka Manana. Though, their marriage union did not get a “till death do us part” ending.

As a married couple, they were together for 5 years and amicably ended the relationship in 2013.

Ntando found love again and married Pumelina Nauda Bangani. He is a father of three children – Kumkani, Lwandle, and Wakhe.


Some time back, he was involved in an accident. The unfortunate incident happened at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 4th Street in Linden, Johannesburg.

When the singer was driving his Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 suddenly a woman rammed into him.

Luck smiled on both sides, no one was injured but the Benz paid the price. According to Ntando, this happened on his way to the studio.
