Ningi Mhinga (born Mninginisi Nkhavi Mhinga) is the firstborn son to the musical icon Yvonne Chaka. He currently is the Nike Running Senior Brand Manager and also works in a sports shop located in France.

His LinkedIn profile has it that he has occupied the position of a marketing manager of Nike since 2010. The profile also includes he was the senior strategist for Interbrand from 2009 – 2011.

He gained admission to study at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in 2000 and graduated in 2005.


Ningi was into a serious relationship with the soul celebrity singer, Tamara Dey. However, their relationship did not work out, they had to separate. Before the separation, they had a daughter as a couple.

Tamara sues Mhinga for Child Support

Singer Tamara Dey is reportedly suing her baby daddy, Mninginisi Nkhavi Mhinga, for R240 000 per year in child support.

The Colours hitmaker has kept the identity of her daughter, Lala Bella’s father a secret until now. Mninginisi is the son of the music icon, Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

According to the Sunday World, Tamara has asked the Randburg Magistrate’s Court to increase his R10 000 a month child support payment to R20 000.

If the request is granted Mninginisi would have to pay R240 000 a year in child support.
