Neyi Zimu (born Moses Gcinumuzi) was a South African musician and pastor who hails from Small Farm, in the Vaal.

In 1996, he started his career as the founder and member of the Family Factory and Joyous Celebration. With this association, he engaged in several collaborations and involvements with many renowned artists.

He dropped the album ‘ Excited’, in 2001 ft. renowned musician, Concorde Nkabinde and Jazz Duo ‘ Tsunami’.

Upon recording a successful release of ‘Excited’, he released his second album titled, ‘Ena Ke Nako’ in 2003.

Later in 2007, Neyi dropped another album he tilted, ‘Message’. It is worth mentioning that these songs, “Lamb of God”, “Higher Higher”, “Come as you are”, “Hamba Name” and “Lord we worship You” are among his popular tracks.

During their tour in South Africa, he shared the same stage with The Manhattans. Other popular artists he worked with include Sibongile Khumalo, Benjamin Dube, the late Wendy Mseleku, Vuyo Mokoena, and Rebecca Malope.

He is the founder of and was a pastor at All Nations Revival Ministries in Midrand. He was a father, husband, founder of a church, businessman and Musician.

He dropped his fifth album titled “I trust in You” with his record label, SPIRIT MUSIC, in 2013.

Wife

He was a husband to his wife, Nellie Sibisi-Zimu and had three children.

Death

Pastor Neyi Zimu is dead not quite long after his family revealed he was undergoing chemotherapy as he was battling with skin cancer.

The news of this death followed not long after his wife, Nelisiwe Sibisi-Zimu revealed he was battling mycosis. She also said that he was undergoing chemotherapy at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital.

Spirit of Praise confirmed on their Twitter account that Neyi died on Wednesday 4 December 2019.
