Mduduzi Mabaso (born 1976 in Alexandra, South Africa) is a South African actor. He is popular for portraying the starring role of a gangster Suffocate on Rhythm City, an e.tv soap opera. He has been in the show since it premiered in July 2007.

He took home the award of the Golden Horn for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap. He won the award for his role as Suffocate at the 3rd Annual SA Film and TV Awards (2009).
He has also appeared on other television shows including Zone 14, A Place Called Home, Yizo Yizo 2, Justice For All, Soul City, and more.
Mabaso has also made notable appearances in movies including Hotel Rwanda in 2004, Catch a Fire, Meokgo and the Stickfighter, and Blood Diamond in 2006).
In 1992, Mduduzi made a notable appearance in a theatre production that toured in Europe.
He also appeared in several other theatre productions including Cry The Beloved Country, Madiba’s Magic. He also featured in Behind the Curtains, Shaka Zulu, and Tasha On The Rocks.
Laying acting aside, the actor has special skills in martial arts, dancing, directing, and writing.
Though he has appeared on the screen as a gangster, Mduduzi dreams of portraying the role of a mentally disturbed character.
Apart from being a celebrity, he is married and his marital life is doing well.
Mduduzi is married to his wife Fatima Mabaso, the couple met during the time they were on the set of the second season of Zone 14, in 2007.
He and his wife are blessed with 4 children, he had 2 of the children from his previous marriage. The name of his children includes Ntokozo, Mpumi, Njabulo, and Zolile.
His ex-wife accused him of being an absent father. He had married his already divorced wife, Veronica Maseko, in a customary marriage.
In a Facebook post dated June 2014, Veronica complained that Mduduzi has not seen his children for 5 years now, since 2009.
It further mentioned that the star actor has not been paying for maintenance as he should.
The post also mentioned that the star actor has two other children with the lady, one being 12 years old and the other, 6 years old.
