Kathy Praise is a Kenyan musician and a born again Christian. She was born into a family of eight (8) children; four (4) boys, and four (4) girls.
She got her inspiration still on this age, after watching Rebecca Malope, a South African musician, performance on TV.
As a daughter of a priest, she started her singing career at the age of five (5) in the Anglican Church Sunday school.
Her talent developed after she listened to the tapes of popular musicians her brother, who was in the choir, brought home.
She enjoyed singing to the extent, Kathy entertained her parents’ visitors by singing while standing on the table.
Kathy also practiced singing starring at the mirror to imitate musicians.
Kathy Praise is married to Eric Nsabumuremyi, a Burundian.
She studied at Lariak Primary and Gatero Girls School in Nyahururu. Kathy joined the choir and became a choir mistress.
Kathy asked her parents to enroll her in a music school but they refused. Her parents wanted her to pursue other careers.
In the process, she attended the Kenya College of Insurance in Nairobi in 2009 where she had a Diploma in Insurance.
She didn’t stop there rather she continued to sing in her church choir. She later became a worship leader in the church.

She got a job at a leading Insurance Company as a salesperson and earned based on commissions for each successful sale.
The journey wasn’t an easy one but at least she could try to save some money for my recording. After ten (10) months, she was able to get some money to record her debut album, Nang’ a with ten (10) songs.
Her parents supported with funds for the Album video she released in January 2013. She encountered challenges distributing the music in the market and media.
According to her, she is working on her second album and will be released anytime soon.
“I am currently working on a second album which will hit the market very soon.
“I love serving God and my inspiration is mostly based on the word of God. I am humbled that God has found it worthy to use me for His glory and I love to worship Him”, she said.
