Jana Strydom (born 12 June 1980) is a South African actress. She gained prominence for appearing on screen in much popular television series.

Among the roles, she is best known for is Helena Moolman in the SABC2 soap opera 7de Laan. She also played Marcelle in M-Net Egoli.

Jana was born on 12 June 1980. After successful matriculation, she flew overseas to work. She spent two years in Europe.


She had her higher institution academic pursuit in Technikon Pretoria, now the University of Technology. Jana studied for and graduated Cum Laude with a B-Tech Drama diploma.

Jana is a proud mother of three lovely children.


She is not a new face in the South African entertainment circle and has won and been nominated for several awards since 2010. 

Among her best-known acting credit is in the SABC2 soap opera 7de Laan. She was cast as Helena Moolman in the SABC2 soap opera. 

She also played the role of Marcelle in another soap opera titled Egoli. Jana also appeared in the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes as Kate Ferreira.

She performs in theatre, voice market, film, and TV. In 2004, she took home the People Magazine’s Crystal Award for the best newcomer.

Her CV is not complete without mentioning that she has worked for many companies and brands.

She worked for the independent television production industry Urban Brew. She was the presenter and host on the Talkshow Lifestyle and Imani Media.

She was cast in Erfsondes as a woman who searched for her biological parents – Kate 

She has gained ground in the industry and then joined Danie Odendal Produksies. She played Helena Moolman in 7de Laan.

More on her television credit is a Donkerland, and international Samsung campaign. In 2013, she took home the Silwerskerm Film Award as best actress in a short film for Vashou Ding.

She landed a starring role in 2014 as a sought-after interior designer Karen le Roux in the SABC2 drama series Swartwater.
