Gérard Rudolf (born 20 April 1966 in Pretoria) is a South African poet and actor. He boasts of almost three decades of experience in the acting scene. His debut acting role was in the 1992 television series titled Andre II.

The popular actor was born in Pretoria, the seat of the executive branch of government, on 20 April 1966.
When his high school education was complete, he did two years of military service, which was compulsory.
To further add to his academic background, Gérard joined the Drama school at the University of Pretoria (UP). He was done with his studies and graduated in 1989.
After graduating, he performed on stage in Shakespeare plays, comedies, and dramas. This followed after he joined the CAPAB drama company.
In 1991, he thought the time was ripe for him to start his theatre company, so he did. He left to start Makeshift Moon. The theatre company specialized in only original South African works.
He managed to grow popular for his courageous and outspoken qualities against the Apartheid regime. Gérard actively campaigned against the mandatory enlistment of people in the military.
Still in the year 1991, his interest in acting began to develop, and was able to land several roles since then.
For 4 years, he served as the head of drama at CityVarsity, Cape Town (1998-2002).
He has also connected and worked with other big names in the entertainment industry.
In 2002, he moved to the UK leaving Cape Town. After spending eight years in the English land, he decided to return to South Africa in 2012.
He still is into acting and directs films and theater. Topping to his career, Gérard is a poet and Orphan Latitudes is his first collection of poetic writing was published in 2009.
Gérard is also a talented photographer, he shares his snaps with his followers on social media.
