Des and Dawn Biography
Des (born in Johannesburg) is a South African Living Legend. He had his education at St. John’s College.
He holds BA English, Zulu African politics at Wits University. Diploma in Lighting and Stage Design from Salzburg.
During the sixties (60s), the time of Folk Songs and coffee bars, he led the scene at the Troubadour in Doornfontein.
By the mid-60s, he already was a fine folk singer. Des recorded tremendous success with his Afrikaans song, Die Gezoem Van Die Bye.
The song topped the South African charts, remained there for 20 weeks and earned him a Gold Disc.
As a Script and Lyric writer; he specializes in writing corporate songs and scripts.
He was a Chairman of Theatre Managements of SA (TMSA) and ex-vice-Chairman of the NGO PROMAT Colleges and Trust.
He likes cricket, fishing, and red wine.
Des is currently married to Dawn Lindberg and the couple celebrated fifty (50) years of marriage in 2015.
“We were in the back row of the chorus and he presented me with a beautiful red rose – and that is how our romance started.” Dawn shared with a laugh.
Dawn Lindberg Biography
Dawn (born in Durban) is also a South African legend. She studied at Parktown Girls High, AFS Scholar at Detroit, USA, BA Fine Arts at Wits University. She also holds Diploma Etching at Urbino, Italy, Stage Design at Salzburg.
She is a director and designer of all CAT Corporate and Stage Productions.

She was the president of Soroptimists International of the Highveld.
She is the founder and Executive Director of the Naledi Theatre Awards. Dawn was aswell the former Chairperson of Theatre Managements of South Africa.
On 19 April 2015 the Dawn Lindberg celebrated her 70th birthday, five days after the staging of the Naledi Theatre Awards.
Dawn met her husband, Des Lindberg in music and theatre, he was studying Law at the time.
“He was like a gentle Viking, tall, with blond hair falling over his eyes, and a guitar slung over his back.”
The couple got married in 1965 in a garden. “We were and remain Flower Children of the 60’s” smiles Dawn….
“All we have ever wanted is Peace and Brotherhood of Man! it’s still an ideal we long for” says Des.

The couple has two (2) children namely; Joshua and Adam. Joshua, 44, and Adam, 42. Joshua is married to Zuraida Jardine, a TV personality and they have two (2) children namely Zaria, 6, and Shia, 4.
