Bob Mabena (born 1969 in Pretoria, South Africa) is a South African Disk Jockey (DJ) and presenter. He is the Managing Director at Bob K Mabena Foundation.

He lost his mother at the age of 11 and so his grandma raised him. Bob sees what you may call a misfortune as a channel for his favor.
“What some might see as a misfortune worked in my favor. I didn’t have parents; my mother passed away when I was 11, so I was raised by my grandmother.
“So there were no two parents to argue about my career. My grandmother didn’t support it at first, but she’s the one who actually gave me the bus fare to travel for my first radio job.”
The name of Bob Mabena’s wife is Eucharist Hadebe. The couple got married and became man and wife in 2015. The following year, 2016′ they had their firstborn baby son.
Although he is believed to have seven (7) children as he had six (6) children from his past relationships.

He revealed some of his biggest fears as a man of his age, 48 years. Bob included being diagnosed with a lifestyle-related disease. According to him, it could be prevented by adopting a good diet and regular exercise.
In an interview section with TshisaLIVE, he explained that he stopped visiting the gym. His reasons were due to the scary number of friends he lost to diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
He also shared that HIV was not his biggest worry at his age rather diabetes, high blood pressure and heart attacks. They scared him the more because they could be prevented to some extent by following a healthy lifestyle.
Bob Mabena founded is a non-profit organization called Bob Mabena. His main aim is to bridge the gap between the more South African affluent children and those living in townships.
It also aims “to improve learning conditions in townships from early childhood development institutions to high schools and tertiary institutions.”
He started his career in radio in the then Republic of Bophuthatswana with Radio Bop (now defunct) in 1989. Bob presented the Afternoon, Breakfast and a Music Video shows.
After he spent three (3) years in the North West, he also ventured into television. Koos Radebe, a manager at Radio Metro station, recruited him to the national radio station.
During his career days at Radio Metro, Bob raced in the Group N series for Nissan South Africa.
Bob later moved to 94.7 in 1996 where he worked as a mid-morning presenter and thereafter occupied a management position.
He moved to Kaya FM in 1999 as the breakfast show host and Programme Manager and thereafter a Station Manager. For two and a half years, he worked at Primedia Business Development Manager post at Group level.
He also worked as the Executive Manager of Commercial Radio stations with the SABC for two (2) years.
Later, he became the director of MRC Radio in charge of their radio stations, Gagasi FM and Heart FM. Bob returned to Kaya FM as Breakfast Host and this time, he established EndowMedia, his own radio consultancy.
Mabena later in 2017, was recruited by MSG to head programming for all their radio stations. He was also appointed manager of Power98.7.
